A/C Service & Repairs Co was the 3rd company that had come out to check on our system in a 2 week period. After calling my home warranty company and having them send a service company out and perform minor repairs and tell us the system would likely not last the summer. The second company came out and provided a bid on replacing our system. He told us he would be surprised if the system lasted a week and quoted over $16K for replacing the system.

We called Russell and were prepared to get another quote on replacing the system. Russell explained he would send Ryon out. He would look at our system and if he could perform repairs he would tell us and if we needed a new system, he would quote us on that too. When Ryon came out, within the first 10 minutes of him being here he took us outside to see the condition of the unit and the first thing he wanted to do was clean it. The outside unit was super dirty – they had to burn the dust off before using a high powered hose to clean it off. Immediately after cleaning, the compressor started functioning better and the stats on the system improved. Ryon and his tech stayed at our home for more than 2 hours testing everything and seeing how the system was functioning. They checked the Freon, they checked the attic unit and did some other maintenance-type repairs on the system.

A week later and our “not going to last a week” system is running like a champ in the crazy Texas heat. Russell may not be the cheapest company in town but they have an experienced, ethical team that isn’t at your home to sell a $20K system. They work to educate you on how to extend the life of your system and perform quality work. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.

We have 2 central systems: one for main part of house and second for add-on and upstairs. In June our secondary unit went out. Another company said a “band-aid” fix would be close to $4000 and we really should just replace the whole thing. We couldn’t do that financially so we bought free-standing and window units. This week our main unit stopped working. They came out and had it up and running in short order and for about $100. So we asked them to give us a second opinion on our secondary unit. He didn’t want to know what the first company diagnosed was wrong with it until he did his own inspection. His diagnosis was one of 3 things being wrong, which would have to be tried separately, but at the very MOST, the third and worst problem would cost us about $1500! Then he looked at the other company’s result and said there is no way they could determine that being the problem without checking other, simpler things first. AND their $4000 fix would be less than half that with A/C Service and Repairs Co. He got the unit up and running, (it was the second situation) for about the same cost as what it cost us to buy the free-standing and window units initially. We could have been running that air all summer instead of using these window units. We will never use another A/C company again! Oh and he called back that night to check and make sure it was still running well. THAT’S good customer service.

Russ and Ryan installed an entirely new system in my 80-year-old house in November 2015. It wasn’t cheap, but Russ convinced me that it would more than pay for itself in the long haul — and it has. My total electric bills for the 12 months after it was installed were about $1100. I had been running above $200/month. Plus the system is quiet and comfortable. I’m completely satisfied.
